Jefferies Financial Group (JEF) has hired Rich Thomas from Lazard (LAZ) to lead its activism defense practice globally, people with knowledge of the hiring told Bloomberg’s Crystal Tse and Michelle Davis. Thomas will join Jefferies in the coming months, the sources said.
