Italian regulator launch probe into Swisscom acquisition of Vodafone, WSJ says

The Italian competition regulator, called Autorita Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato, has launched an in-depth probe into Swisscom’s $8.81B acquisition of Vodafone Italia, Adam Whittaker of The Wall Street Journal reports. No timeline for the completion of the investigation has been provided, but Swisscom said it will work with the regulator to secure a timely clearance. Additionally, the company continues to believe the transaction to buy Vodafone Italia is pro-competitive.
