Lip-Bu Tan’s role as Intel (INTC) CEO and as a tech investor has overlapped a few times, Don Clark and Tripp Mickle of The New York Times reports. Over the summer, Intel made an offer to buy Rivos. While the start-up would eventually be bought by Meta (META), Tan stood to profit handsomely from the sale, one person familiar with the matter said. Additionally, Intel recently held discussions to buy SambaNova Systems, where Tan is the executive chairman and an investor, people with knowledge of the situation said. Tan’s multiple jobs have created concerns in the industry, with four employees leaving the company due to what they viewed as Tan’s conflict of interest.
