India’s government is discussing a proposal to force smartphone firms to enable always active satellite location tracking for better surveillance, Aditya Kalra and Munsif Vengattil of Reuters reports, citing documents, emails, and five sources. This move has been opposed by Apple (AAPL), Google (GOOGL), and Samsung (SSNLF), three sources with direct knowledge of the deliberations told Reuters.
