Hyundai Motor (HYMTF) plans to deploy Atlas humanoid robots at its Metaplant America facility in Georgia, with a target of automating 40% of vehicle assembly work by the end of this year, Nikkei Asia’s Nami Matsuura reports, citing sources. The androids, which are developed by Boston Dynamics, stand on two feet and can bend and stretch their arms like a human.
