Google is suing Darcula, a Chinese-speaking cybercriminal group, claiming it is responsible for a massive amount of scam text messages sent to Americans over the past year, Kevin Collier of NBC News reports, citing a legal complaint. Darcula sells software allowing users to send phising text messages, impersonating organizations such as the IRS or USPS. The lawsuit is meant to give Google legal standing so U.S. courts can allow it to seize websites and hamper operations of the group, a spokesperson said.
