Alphabet’s (GOOG) (GOOGL) Google is developing a dedicated Gemini AI app for Apple’s (AAPL) Mac computers in an effort to ramp up competition with Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports. The search giant started privately sharing an early version of the app in a consumer beta testing program this week, with such a move allowing Google to receive feedback on upcoming software from non-employees, who can identify bugs before a public launch, the author notes.
