Google (GOOGL) is developing a new initiative to make AI chips better at PyTorch, an open-source project supported by Meta Platforms (META), Krystal Hu, Kenrick Cai and Stephen Nellis of Reuters reports. The move is aimed to weakening Nvidia’s (NVDA) dominance in the AI computing market, people familiar with the matter said. This effort is part of Google’s plan to make its Tensor Processing Units an alternative to Nvidia’s GPUs.
