General Motors (GM) intends to shift production of its next-generation Buick Envision compact SUV, which is currently made in China, to a facility in Kansas in 2028, Bloomberg’s David Welch reports. The car maker also said it will likely end production of its all-electric Chevrolet Bolt that’s manufactured in the same plant in about a year and a half, the author says. The move is likely a response to policy decisions by President Donald Trump, whose tariffs have pressured car makers to move output out of China and into the U.S., the author notes.
