GE HealthCare (GEHC) announced the FDA has approved a pediatric indication for its Optison ultrasound enhancing agent. This approval will help improve the clarity of echocardiograms for diagnosing heart conditions in pediatric patients, enhancing the assessment of ventricular function. Optison, the only PEG-free UEA available in the U.S., was first approved for adult use in 1997.
