The General Services Administration has sent letters to about a half dozen consulting companies asking them to justify their work with the federal government and to propose cost savings, a person familiar with the matter tells The Wall Street Journal, which reviewed a copy of the letter. The latest round of letters was sent to McKinsey, BCG, EY, AlixPartners, FTI Consulting (FCN) and Alvarez & Marsal, the person familiar with the effort told The Journal’s Chip Cutter.
