Representatives from Freyr Battery (FREY) told the Coweta County Development Authority in late January that the company will not proceed with its planned $2.6B factory in Newnan, Georgia, roughly 40 miles southwest of downtown Atlanta, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Zachary Hansen, Drew Kann, and J. Scott Trubey report. The company was planning to make battery energy storage systems to store electricity from solar arrays and other renewables, the authors note.
