Five Starbucks plants are cutting two weekly days of production, Bloomberg says

Five Starbucks (SBUX) plants that roast and package the company’s coffee beans in the U.S. are cutting two days of its weekly production, Daniela Sirtori of Bloomberg reports. Starting in January, the plants located in Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Washington State will be adopting a new five-day schedule, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg. Starbucks is looking to cut costs in some areas to help pay for upgrades and found it no longer needs to operate the plants seven days a week to meet demand, a source said.
