The FCC issued an order approving the transaction for the transfer of U.S. Cellular’s (USM) wireless operations, customers, and certain spectrum licenses to T-Mobile (TMUS). According to the FCC, U.S. Cellular, a subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems (TDS), is retaining approximately 70% of its spectrum holdings and all of its towers. U.S. Cellular and TDS stated they look forward to closing the transaction upon satisfaction of all remaining conditions.
