Exxon Mobil’s (XOM) Mobil Oil Australia has been fined A$16M by the Federal Court of Australia over misleading claims about the fuel sold at patrol stations in parts of Queensland, Reuters reports, citing the country’s competition regulator. Mobil recently admitted it had made misleading claims between August 2020 and July 2024, falsely indicating its “Mobil Synergy Fuel” contained certain additives.
