On Friday, hackers broke into Sinqia, a financial tech provider owned by Evertec (EVTC), Clarice Couto of Bloomberg reports. The hackers attempted to steal around $77.4M from Brazilian financial institutions, including HSBC‘s (HSBC) local operations. HSBC confirmed the incident and noted, “no customer accounts or funds were impacted by the operation and measures have been taken to block these transactions.”
