European airlines to be weak on ceasefire breakdown, says Jefferies

Jefferies expects the European airlines sector to be weak today, saying the U.S.-Russia ceasefire talks “underwhelmed” while fighting restarted in Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Gaza in the last 24 hours. Wizz Air’s (WZZZY) investment thesis is most exposed to a breakdown of peace as pre-war, Ukraine and Russia were 7.0% of the company’s capacity and Israel 4.7%, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm points out the region represented 3.2% of Lufthansa’s (DLAKY) capacity.
