The European Commission is nearing a preliminary deal to exempt commercial aircraft from certain tariffs, which could benefit Airbus (EADSY), Bloomberg’s Jorge Valero, Benedikt Kammel, and Stefan Nicola report. The deal would also create exemptions for some mostly German carmakers like BMW (BMWYY) and Mercedes-Benz (MBGYY), but not others such as Ferrari (RACE), since the carve-outs may only apply to firms with factories in the U.S., according to people familiar with the matter.
