Compass (COMP) closed its acquisition of Anywhere Real Estate (HOUS) after leadership at the Justice Department overruled staff concerns that the deal could hurt competition, Leah Nylen and Alexandra Levine of Bloomberg report, citing people familiar with the matter. The Justice Department’s antitrust staff had recommended an investigation of the combination but were blocked by senior Trump administration officials, sources told Bloomberg.
