A new slate of layoffs at Disney (DIS) is hitting the company’s Marvel unit hard, with Marvel losing workers from both New York and Burbank across most areas of the unit including film and tv production, comics, franchise, finance, and legal, as well as nearly the entire visual development team at Marvel Studios, Forbes’ Rob Salkowitz reports. Sources familiar with the layoffs told Forbes that such cuts are primarily due to the previously-announced reduction in the Marvel Studios production slate.
