Deutsche Telekom (DTEGY) is considering a full combination with T-Mobile (TMUS), Michelle Davis, Eyk Henning, Ruth David and Dinesh Nairl of Bloomberg report, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Deutsche Telekom is T-Mobile’s largest shareholder with a 53% stake, Bloomberg points out. The company has been discussing the idea of creating a new holding company that would make a stock bid for both Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile, sources told Bloomberg. The combined company may then seek a listing in the U.S. and a major European exchange, a person added. Discussions are at a preliminary stage and any transaction would require political support to move ahead, Bloomberg notes. Shares of T-Mobile are up 3% to $205.11 following the report.
