A CSX (CSX) train that derailed in a rural area of southern Kentucky leaked a flammable chemical and sparked a fire, after which authorities issued a shelter-in-place order for residents who were close by, the Associated Press reports. There were no injuries reported from the derailment of 31 rail cars, and the fire was extinguished by late Tuesday morning, the report notes. “We appreciate the swift response and coordination of local first responders and emergency management officials,” the company said. “Our primary focus continues to be the health and safety of onsite personnel, the surrounding community and mitigating any potential risk to the environment.”
