Delta Air Lines (DAL) has been working with Fetcherr to develop a new AI tool that can optimize air fare pricing, Alison Sider of The Wall Street Journal reports. The airline believes the tool can set up to 20% of its domestic fares by the end of the year. It currently is setting about 3% of domestic fares. However, Delta is now trying to handle a series of objections from lawmakers and consumer advocates who fear AI could be used to reach into customer’s browser histories or other personal information to hike up individual air fares.
