UBS raised the firm’s price target on Core Natural Resources (CNR) to $115 from $109 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. Core has underperformed peers by more than 50% since the Consol and Arch merger, driven by operational challenges, weaker-than-expected 2025 earnings, and a comparatively complex investment narrative versus simpler peers, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Earnings are expected to improve year over year, with potential upside from stronger thermal coal pricing, the firm says.
