The Sports Betting Alliance announced a proposal to bring legal sports betting to California, pledging to fund a ballot initiative while granting the state’s tribes control over its operation, Jill Dorson of Casino Reports reported. Meanwhile, tribal leaders are reportedly considering a similar approach. At the Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention in San Diego, representatives from DraftKings and FanDuel introduced the idea of forming a unified tribal entity to oversee online sports betting in California, home to 109 tribes. This entity would then partner with national operators to offer sports wagering. Publicly traded companies in the space include Boyd Gaming (BYD), Caesars (CZR), Churchill Downs (CHDN), DraftKings (DKNG), Flutter Entertainment (FLUT), Gan Limited (GAN), Genius Sports (GENI), Las Vegas Sands (LVS), MGM Resorts (MGM), Penn Entertainment (PENN), Rush Street Interactive (RSI), Sportradar (SRAD) and Wynn Resorts (WYNN).
