Coinbase (COIN) is in advanced talks to buy Deribit, a crypto derivatives exchange, Bloomberg’s Ben Bartenstein, Anna Irrera, Matthew Monks, and Suvashree Ghosh report. People with knowledge of the matter say that the companies have informed regulators in Dubai about the talks, as Deribit holds a license there, which would be taken over by any buyer. Bloomberg reported in January that Deribit could be valued at around $4B-$5B.
