The Competition and Markets Authority investigated Google’s proposals to remove third-party cookies on Chrome and replace TPCs functionality with a range of ‘Privacy Sandbox’ tools. The CMA said: “After carefully considering the consultation responses to the June 2025 consultation, the CMA remains of the view that it has reasonable grounds for believing that its competition concerns no longer arise and that it is appropriate to release the commitments. On 17 October 2025, the CMA issued its Decision to release the commitments.”
