Communication Services, Financials, and Real Estate were the best performing sectors in the S&P 500 while Energy was the worst performer amid slumping oil prices.  Among standouts, Palantir (PLTR) and Autodesk (ADSK) were among the leading names.   Also of note, Boeing (BA) and Coinbase (COIN) made new 52-week highs.

Investors are preparing for the release of the latest CPI inflation data on Tuesday morning and the possibility of stepped up pressure by President Trump on the Federal Reserve to cut rates sooner than later.
