Closing Bell Movers: Progress Software slips 4% after earnings

In the opening hour of the evening session, U.S. equity futures are down marginally, with S&P500, Nasdaq 100 and Dow Industrials all slipping 0.1% from Monday’s closing levels.  In commodities, WTI  Crude Oil is off by 0.2% below $65 per barrel, though the contract continues to trade in a narrow range in the wake of Israel-Iran flare-up volatility earlier this month.  Precious metals are also finding support after Friday’s retreat, with Gold bounding back above $3,300 and Silver above $36 per ounce.

Don’t Miss TipRanks’ Half-Year Sale

On Monday, Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 closed at fresh record highs, with Tech and Financials seen as the best performing sectors on the latter while Energy and Consumer Discretionary underperformed.  Amazon (AMZN) and Tesla (TSLA) were down 2%, reflecting a more cautious sentiment on Consumer names heading into this week’s key employment data.

Fixed income markets have also foreshadowed a potentially slower-growing second half of 2025 for the economy, with yields on the 10-year U.S. Treasury falling another 5bps to a two-month low of 4.23% and expectations of Fed policy now balancing more in favor of three rate 25bp rate cuts this year.
