In the opening hour of the evening session, U.S. equity futures are up slightly, with S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Dow Industrials gaining 0.1%. In energy, WTI Crude Oil is up less than 0.3% but off Tuesday’s low after a second consecutive week of draw in crude stocks as reported by API. In precious metals, gold pressed higher above $3,440, with traders citing inflationary risks stemming from President Trump’s decision to fire Fed Governor Lisa Cook and the presumably more dovish replacement taking her place.

Major indices finished Tuesday’s trading at the highs as Industrials and Financials outperformed while Consumer Staples lagged all other sectors on the S&P 500. Eli Lilly (LLY) was the standout name, leading the index with a 6% gain, having announced positive results from orforglipron’s second Phase 3 trial in obesity. Keurig Dr. Pepper (KDP) was sharply lower for the second consecutive session however as the company’s acquisition of JDE Peets met with skepticism on the Street.
Reporting names in the beaten down Software space also performed well after earnings, with sharp gains seen in MongoDB, Okta, and Box, though sentiment tomorrow will be the function of quarterly results from the last Tech mega-cap reporting Q2 when Nvidia (NVDA) provides an update on the AI buildout capex cycle helping catalyze the broad-based market rebound this year.
