On Wednesday, S&P 500 and Dow Industrials opened stronger but closed the day near the lows. Energy and Utilities were the worst performing sectors while Communication Services was at the forefront amid strength in Meta, Live Nation, and Netflix. Treasury markets were especially volatile after a much softer than expected ADP employment report that may be foreshadowing weakness in non-farm payrolls on Friday. 10-year Treasury yields fell 10 basis points to 4.37% – a four-week low. According to CME FedWatch tool, markets have also solidified expectations of a first Fed easing starting with its September meeting.
