Closing Bell Movers: Intel slides after quarterly report

In the early hours of the evening session, U.S. equity futures were largely mixed, with every index continuing the same trend as the regular session. Earnings season is fully underway, with Intel (INTC) sliding after its report, in which it announced layoffs as well.

• Edwards Lifesciences (EW) up 7.5%
• Ovintiv (OVV) up 4.5%
• Newmont Mining (NEM) up 4.2%
• Ardagh Metal Packaging (AMBP) up 4.1%
• Mohawk Industries (MHK) up 2.6%

ALSO HIGHER –

• NextCure (NXTC) up 39.9% after presenting new preclinical data on osteogenesis imperfecta treatment
• Paramount (PARA) up 4.7% after the FCC approved its deal with Skydance Media

LOWER AFTER EARNINGS –

• SLM (SLM) down 4.2%
• Kinsale Capital (KNSL) down 3.5%
• Intel (INTC) down 2.7%

ALSO LOWER –

• Pinnacle Financial (PNFP) and Synovus (SNV) down 6.6% and 8.4%, respectively, after announcing their merger agreement
