Closing Bell Movers: Alphabet rises, Tesla slips after Q2 reports

In the early hours of the evening session, U.S. equity futures were sharply higher, with Dow futures up nearly 400 points in a continuation of the regular sessions broad gains. Tech giants Tesla (TSLA) and Alphabet (GOOGL) reported earnings after the close, with other major players IBM (IBM), T-Mobile (TMUS), and Mattel (MAT) also rounding out the afternoon’s earnings slate.
