Citizens JMP says the launch of Amazon Autos (AMZN) is not a threat to digital auto retailers like Carvana (CVNA) nor used car marketplaces like CarGurus (CARG). The firm spoke to six dealers that are listed on the Amazon marketplace and learned of light volume since the start of the program despite Amazon offering significant deals to promote the product. Citizens believes Amazon is not a near-term threat to its automotive coverage. Amazon is not supporting dealers with any training, “creating a disjointed experience for customers,” the firm contends.
