Christopher McQuarrie, who directed the last four “Mission: Impossible” films, is attached to write, direct, and produce a feature film adaptation of Electronic Arts’ (EA) video game franchise “Battlefield,” with Academy Award-winning actor Michael B. Jordan attached to produce and potentially star in the project, The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit reports, citing sources. McQuarrie and several others have pitched the idea to a variety of studios and streamers, including Apple (AAPL) and Sony (SONY), this week, with parties involved prioritizing a theatrical release, making it unclear if Netflix (NFLX) will have a meeting on the matter, the author says. It remains unclear when bidding for the project will commence, the author notes.
