Chinese vehicle maker BYD (BYDDF) reported an increase in profits for the quarter “as it overtook Tesla (TSLA) as the top global seller of electric vehicles on a quarterly basis,” reports Kosaku Narioka for the Wall Street Journal. “The Chinese electric-vehicle maker said Tuesday that net profit climbed 19% from a year earlier to 8.67 billion yuan, $1.20B, for the final three months of last year,” added the WSJ story. Other companies in the EV space include Li Auto (LI) XPeng (XPEV) and Fisker (FSR).
