BMO Capital analyst Ameet Thakkar raised the firm’s price target on Cheniere Energy (LNG) to $306 from $265 and keeps an Outperform rating on the shares. With early estimates that 17% of Qatar’s LNG export capacity will be offline for 3-5 years and with Cheniere’s share price at all-time highs, the firm remains constructive on Cheniere shares, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The company’s growing LNG export capacity operated under long-term take-or-pay contracts offers exceptional earnings visibility and asymmetric upside potential/downside protection that affords it optionality to continue to grow capital returns to shareholders, the firm added.
