Cenovus Energy (CVE) is in talks with Canada’s Indigenous groups to jointly bid for MEG Energy (MEGEF), Robert Tuttle and Paula Sambo of Bloomberg report. A group of First Nations and Metis communities are in talks with Cenovus about taking a $1.45B stake in MEG, sources told Bloomberg. A joint offer for MEG could be made as early as September, they added.
