Carmakers seek to exclude low-cost autoparts from tariffs, Bloomberg says

Before the 25% tariffs begin this week, U.S. automakers – Ford (F), General Motors (GM), and Stellantis (STLA) – are lobbying the Trump administration to exclude low-cost car parts from the levies, Bloomberg’s Keith Naughton, David Welch, and Jennifer Dlouhy report, citing people familiar with discussions. Negotiators with the automakers have held last-ditch talks with the White House, the Commerce Department, and the U.S. Trade Representative Office, the report states.
