Carlyle (CG) and KKR (KKR) have been selected by the U.S. Army to build two data centers on military bases that are estimated to cost $2B each, Steff Chavez of The Financial Times reports. This comes as the service’s use of AI has skyrocketed during the war in Iran. The army will provide long-term leases to the firms but will not invest in the project.
