Capcom (CCOEY) is experimenting with generative AI tools as a way to speed up work and cut costs in game development, IGN’s Sayem Ahmed reports, citing a Google Cloud Japan interview with technical director Kazuki Abe. “One of the most time-consuming and labor intensive parts of game development is coming up with hundreds of thousands of unique ideas,” said Abe, who has worked on big Capcom titles such as “Monster Hunter World” and “Exoprimal.” He added that multiple proposals are required for the thousands to tens of thousands of particular objects per game, and each proposal includes illustrations needed to communicate such ideas.
