Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Dave Rochester initiated coverage of 16 U.S. banks with a “constructive view” and 11 Overweight ratings, naming Citizens Financial (CFG) as its top pick among the group. The firm cites a macro backdrop it views as constructive of further upside and relative outperformance, deregulation that it views as offering “tangible support” for banking fundamentals, sentiment and M&A and expectations for “solid” loan growth in the second half after a slower start to the first half of the year.
