Brookfield Infrastructure Partners (BIP) has reached a deal to acquire internet service provider Hotwire Communications, the Wall Street Journal’s Lauren Thomas and Jessica Toonkel report, citing people familiar with the matter. The deal, a multibillion-dollar bet on the growing demand for next-generation broadband infrastructure, is anticipated to value Hotwire at roughly $7B, including debt, the authors note.
