BlackSky (BKSY) Technology unveiled plans to expand its high frequency monitoring constellation with multispectral, large-area collection satellites. These new satellites, initially designated as AROS, will support country-scale digital mapping, navigation, maritime, and 3D digital twin applications. The AROS satellites are designed to augment the site monitoring capabilities of Gen-3, providing dynamic broad area search and change monitoring. BlackSky is engaged with development partners and plans to launch as early as 2027.
