Berry Global, Amcor receive EC antitrust approval for merger

Amcor (AMCR) and Berry Global Group (BERY) announced the European Commission has granted unconditional approval under the EU Merger Regulation for the previously announced combination of the two companies, satisfying the final regulatory clearance required. In accordance with the merger agreement, this enables the companies to complete the remaining steps towards closing. The transaction is expected to close on April 30, subject to the satisfaction or waiver of certain other closing conditions.
