Barclays finds it likely that suppliers could be involved in Amazon Web Services’ (AMZN) liquid cooling technology. The concern following AWS’s announcement today is that Amazon is entering the hardware space more directly in data center cooling, putting the revenues of U.S. multi-industry companies who sell cooling and thermal management products into Amazon at risk, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Barclays, however, believes AWS is unlikely to be making the in-row heat exchanger hardware in-house. Shares of Vertiv (VRT) and nVent Electric (NVT) moved lower today following AWS’s announcement.
