Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is up 5 from last week to 554, with oil rigs up 2 to 419, gas rigs up 2 to 127 and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 8. The U.S. rig count is down 29 rigs from last year’s count of 583, with oil rigs down 60, gas rigs up 28 and miscellaneous up 3. The U.S. offshore rig count is unchanged at 19, up 6 year-over-year.
