Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is up 2 from last week to 546 with oil rigs unchanged at 411, gas rigs up 3 to 125 and miscellaneous rigs down 1 to 10. The U.S. Rig Count is down 36 rigs from last year’s count of 582 with oil rigs down 68, gas rigs up 27 and miscellaneous up 5. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 1 to 14, up 1 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 1 from last week to 232 with oil rigs down 2 to 156, gas rigs up 3 to 76 and miscellaneous unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is down 26 from last year’s count of 258 with oil rigs down 30, gas rigs up 4 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
