Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is up 1 from last week to 549 with oil rigs up 3 to 417, gas rigs down 3 to 125 and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 7. The U.S. Rig Count is down 35 rigs from last year’s count of 584 with oil rigs down 61, gas rigs up 24 and miscellaneous up 2. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 19, up 5 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is down 3 from last week to 188, with oil rigs down 5 to 124, gas rigs up 2 to 64 and miscellaneous unchanged at 0. The Canada Rig Count is down 12 from last year’s count of 200 with oil rigs down 13, gas rigs up 1 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
