Baker Hughes (BKR) reports that the U.S. rig count is up 1 from last week to 537 with oil rigs up 2 to 414, gas rigs down 1 to 118 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 5. The U.S. Rig Count is down 45 rigs from last year’s count of 582 with oil rigs down 69, gas rigs up 24 and miscellaneous unchanged. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 13, down 6 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 6 from last week to 181, with oil rigs up 3 to 123, gas rigs up 3 to 58 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged. The Canada Rig Count is down 39 from last year’s count of 220 with oil rigs down 29, gas rigs down 9 and miscellaneous rigs down 1.
